The First of Many | CosLife

This past week was the annual San Diego Comic Convention - for those of you who are unaware, it is an annual gathering of all things in the comic world, a four day celebration of the true nerds, wannabe nerds, non nerds who think its a cool thing to be nerds for the week, and of course all things Hollywood (whole different rant about that one). Anyways, a lot of my fellow photographers are currently showing off CosPlay (Costume Play) photos and because I opted not to go again, I was feeling a little left out. So I called up fellow nerd Holly - although I feel like her nerdism deserves a whole new word  - and schedule a quick and simple shoot. Now I didn't want to just slap a costume on her and and call it a day, I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted this to be less about the costume and more about the person. I wanted the costume to feel natural as if this was an everyday attire vs a Halloween prop.  I like to call this CosLife - get it? I hope for this to be the first of many. Taking the fantasy world of kings, super heroes, dragons, aliens, and low taxes and bringing them into our everyday life. I figured people put these costumes on to be a part of that world - to make it real for just a moment or two, so why not make it as true to life as possible. Again, I hope that to be the goal. Enjoy and please feel free to comment away or message me with notes or ideas.

Just not looked at these images again. Well done.

"...less about the costume and more about the person. I wanted the costume to feel natural as if this was an everyday attire..."

Amazing shoot and your theme is very evident. This is less cosplaying and more like a candid shoot of a Starfleet officer getting ready for duty. Awesome work and great theme.
