Brian Cuasito Photography | Blog

Hello World,

So I've been told countless of times that I should be doing a blog as well as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. It's sad to say that even though I see all the values of having one ... well OK I'll be honest, I am just a little lazy. OK a lot lazy. Blogs take up a lot of your time and effort. But I was planning a major revamp on my site anyways, so I figured - what the hell I'll give it a shot. I guess going forward I will be doing blogs on my future shoots, past shoots, lessons learned and whatever else comes my way. At least that is the plan, don't be surprised if this doesn't last too long haha.

In all seriousness though, I wanted to find a platform where I could not only share my photos but also share my thoughts not just to the world but more importantly to myself as well. I guess I want to use this blog as a place for me to speak to myself to let me know how I really felt about the shoot, about my performance, my subject, and my over all setup. As a photographer, I am always learning and there is no better teacher than experience.

I realize this may not be the best blog to use as a marketing tool or for self promotion. And I am OK with that. I want this space to be a place for future models, clients, and partners to know who I really am, what I go through, how I've grown, and what I have become. This blog will come from a place of honesty, not just to you the readers, but to myself as well.

I believe that photography is an intimate experience between the photographer and the subject. For a successful experience, there needs to be a bond of trust, fellowship, and partnership with everyone involved. For many, this will be the first step towards that.

Oh how time has passed. I've been doing a lot of studio and fashion shoots lately and it made me think about the first time I attempted to do fashion shoots. It was back in 2003 I believe and I was sophomore in college. I was enrolled in an advance digital photography class and had access to studio gear, print rooms, and film labs. Honestly, I did...

I was told that I when I do a blog, I should come from a place of honesty. So here goes... Ok I'll be the first to admit that this was a little difficult for me. It's has been a while since I've had a chance to do some real studio shooting. I think the last time was when I was still at school, about 2 years ago. Sure, I've done a couple of boudoir...

Anna Ahle + Brandon Edwards | Santa Ana, CA | July 20, 2013 It's been a while since I've had the chance to shoot second shooter at a wedding and I have to admit, it's kind of fun. It was nice not to have to wake up all kinds of early, plan the day by the hour, or have to deal with all the crazy wedding logistics. I was nice to just be told what...

This past week was the annual San Diego Comic Convention - for those of you who are unaware, it is an annual gathering of all things in the comic world, a four day celebration of the true nerds, wannabe nerds, non nerds who think its a cool thing to be nerds for the week, and of course all things Hollywood (whole different rant about that one). Any...
